Use this Sketch...

I created this sketch for the Thursday Challenge at For the Luv of Art. I hope you'll play along and enter for a chance to win a store gift certificate.

Are you ready for some baseball?

Katelyn definitely is!

 

She hasn't been interested in sports in the past, but for some reason this season she has decided she really wants to play baseball. Like really wants to play. She even makes up songs about it. I had to make up this cute headband for her to wear. Now, sports are not a new thing in our house. Actually sports are pretty much our life. But for Katelyn, she's always been a spectator. Since she's the one that will be center of attention I wanted her to look her best!

I made this headband for the Glue Arts blog featuring Epiphany!

Spring Baseball Headbands

Designer Note: My daughter is so excited to start playing t-ball this spring so I wanted to make her a cute headband to wear! She's gotta look the part! It was so cute I had to make one for myself too!

 

Instructions:

1. Create your epoxy shapes with the Epiphany punch and stickers. I love how easy it is to create the exact shape/pattern you want with the open view finder on the top of the punch. I just happened to have this baseball paper in my stash which worked perfectly for the size of the epoxy shapes. I created 13 little baseballs for her headband.

2. Place a mini adhesive square to the back of your epoxy sticker.

3. Adhere the epoxy stickers to the top of the headband. This adhesive rocks. Those suckers are stuck on there and don't move when the elastic is stretched. Awesome

 

4. Make a cute headband for yourself too!

A page and an interview...

I have a new Lily Bee page to share with you today. And as you can tell from this page I have a lot of plans around the house for this warm season...if it ever gets here! It was snowing like crazy still yesterday and the high today is 37.

 
I used the banner stickers to make little flags to mark my projects! Fun!

 

Now I just need to make sure we do these things! 10 years in our house and we still don't have a proper walkway to the front door. It always scares the pee out of me when someone comes knocking at the slider on the back deck. I need a front walkway.

Oh, and the windows in the basement. Oh, how I dream of having windows in my scraproom and the kids toy room. It will change the front of our house, but I can live with that.

And a garden. I have been wanting a garden for years and this year I'm making it happen. Let's just hope the bunnies and deer don't eat it all.

The others. Just fun things that I'd like to see happen. The above 3...MUST HAPPEN THIS YEAR!

 
In other news. I did an interview with Lain Ehmann on sketches and my upcoming sketch class at Big Picture Classes. I can't bring myself to listen to it, but if you'd like to hear how silly I sound here's the link to check it out!

Lain is so much fun. I took LOAD a couple years ago. I didn't actually complete it, but I did learn so many benefits from doing it.

I think taking my class with the May LOAD challenge would be a super fun way to do it.

With mixed emotions...

I created this layout to share on the Lily Bee blog today.

 

A little story behind this layout...

My son is not the type to blow dry his hair...or barely comb it for the matter. So, when I heard the blow drying going after his shower I was a little shocked. I  quietly walked in and saw him blow drying his hair. It was the cutest thing. And then it hit me...oh my gosh, he's growing up. Next thing I know he'll be liking girls (yeah, I'm lucky my 9 year old isn't into girls yet) and shaving and then driving and then...

So, I had to scrapbook this. This is defintely one of those moments that capture the changes in his youth and mark how fast he's growing up.

This is why I scrapbook. This is why I find the time to fit it in. This is why I document the little moments of our lives.

Glue Arts + Lily Bee

Spring Shadow Box

3D U-Cut It Adhesive Foam

Ribbon Adhesive

Making Memories Slice Die Cut Machine and Words & Expressions Holidays Design Cartridge

Instructions:

1. Hot glue grass to the inside bottom of the shadow box

2. For the large rosette: cut 2 - 2 x 12 inch strips of patterned paper and scallop one side. Then pleat (fold back and forth) the pieces about every 1/4 inch. Adhere the two pieces together and then adhere them into a circle.

Using a scrap piece of paper punch out a 2 inch circle. Apply strips of Perma Tac to the circle and then adhere it to the back of the rosette and flatten down the rosette till it adheres to the circle.

For the lace rosette: punch out another 2 inch circle and apply strips of Perma Tac to the circle. Slightly bunch the lace around the outside of the circle to form a 3 inch circle. Hot glue the ends together once your circle is complete.

For the smaller rosette: cut 1 - 1 1/4 x 12 inch strip of patterned paper and repeat the same steps for making the larger rosette, but you won't have to adhere two strips together for the smaller one.

4. Layer and hot glue each rosette together.
5. Cut a piece of the 3D foam adhesive and adhere to the back of a sticker and place in the center of the flower rosettes.

6. Cut out an 8x10 piece of patterned paper and adhere it to the front of the back side of the shadowbox with Perma Tac
7. Using the Perma Tac adhere a doily towards the upper part of the paper.
8. Using the ribbon adhesive, bunch up a strip of ribbon to create the stem for the flower.
9. Using hot glue attach the layered rosette on to the middle of the doily.
10. Randomly place buttons in the bottom of the shadowbox in front of the grass to hide the hot glue!
11. Place the back on the frame.
12. Using the Slice or another diecutter cut out spring/Easter words on the Accent It All Vinyl. Since the Accent It All has repositionable adhesive on the back I took the backing off the vinyl and stuck it to the Slice cutting board so it wouldn't move around during the cutting. Cut out some spring/Easter words and place them on the outside of the glass over the grass. Using the Perma Tac attach a couple of butterflies to the front of the glass.

Sharing Layouts...

I'm in the mood to make something creative, but since I'm stuck at work for the next few hours I figured I'd take my lunch break and share with you all the stuff I've created lately that I haven't posted here yet.

I've been so tired this week and it makes no sense...I think my body needs spring to hurry up and get here so I can get out of hibernation mode. I'm ready. I spend my days itching to make something (but I'm stuck at a desk all day) and then I get home at night and I'm exhausted. Frustrating!
